Mechanical Engineers can expect a broad range of opportunities across various industrial domains including Construction Industry. There is a separate trade named as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) that is of vital importance for any construction project. Mechanical Engineers are responsible for a clash-free model that illustrates pre-construction visualization of the proposed project.
Modern technology like BIM and allied tools in the form of modeling software like Autodesk Revit, Naviswork, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Bentley, etc. equip Mechanical with incredibly smarter means of developing  MEP models that are flawless and compelling. Pre-construction visualization can be enhanced with the use of Augmented & Virtual Reality which produces a realistic view of the proposed structure way ahead of the construction.
It is advisable for any Mechanical Engineer to undergo training programs and courses offered by reputable institutes in BIM Technology and its applications across various trades and functions involved in the Construction Industry. NIBT or National Institute of Building Technology is a premier institute offering specialization courses in BIM technology for different trades & services related to the construction projects.
